Why do people hate whalewars ( by that i meant the people and what their doing )?

i really don't get it some people think they are terrorist i mean wtf they wouldn't be their if the Japanese are killing whales. they are not even killing or harming the Japanese all they are trying to do is stop the whaling of whale, i mean sure they are just whales, but still its a living breathing lifeforms and they are on a brink of extinction...............what if their were aliens ( just making examples ) and they are hunting down the human race and were on a brink of extinctions...we wouldn't be happy now would we ?
