Help restore our hope plz?

My husband has advanced CAD and recently had stents put in. The dr that did this procedure basically told him that his arteries were so bad he might as well just give it up and it took all our hope right out of us. You can't live without hope and I think there are ways of telling people unpleasant things that don't just crush the life and hope out of them.Why do people have to be so mean? We have both been very depressed ever since this incident and would like to hear from anyone with any personal experiences of CAD, Stenting,and or Byp surgery..I don't want to lose my husband and I don't know where to turn for answers. The hardest thing in the world is watching someone you love suffer and feeling poowerless to help. God bless anyone who can help us. Thank you
