Unemployment Benefits for the Self Employed?

I'm living in California and have been self-employed (LLC) for the last 7 years. Prior to that I worked for several corporations as a regular employee and they of course paid my Unemployment Insurance. I've now been out of work for well over a year. Can I collect unemployment? Also, do people like me show up in the unemployment stats? We should!
