Is it morally (God, religion, Hope missions, etc.) to refuse scheduled drugs at critical levels?

As an emergency doctor, it was my practise to give supportive therapy first, and avoid scheduled drugs. For example, we do NOT give Tamiflu to a person admitted into the Emergency or Casualty for up to 23 hours, until all vital statistics are stable with supportive therapy. The hullaboo created world wide over swine flu last year at this time with Dr. Martin Dale (A consultant) being wrongly questioned, I wonder what the reply is between colleagues.
